Dr. Peter Forkner is a psychologist, consultant, and AI startup cofounder specializing in the ethical integration of artificial intelligence into mental health care. With more than 20 years’ experience in higher education and clinical leadership, he helps organizations and innovators use technology to enhance care, strengthen resilience, and promote human flourishing.

For a decade, Dr. Forkner served as Director of the Bentley University Counseling Center, where he led campus-wide initiatives to improve student well-being and introduced resilience-based training programs grounded in positive psychology. He also oversaw one of the first university pilots of a generative AI mental health chatbot, helping establish early standards for safe and effective AI use in college mental health.

His current work spans consulting, product development, and public speaking, all focused on how AI can responsibly extend the reach and quality of mental health support. A graduate of Harvard Medical School’s Leading AI Innovation in Health Care program, he develops AI-driven clinical training tools, designs AI-assisted therapy frameworks, and advises organizations seeking evidence-based approaches to psychological well-being.

He has presented nationally at NASPA, AUCCCD, and ACHA on topics including resilience, positive psychology, and the evolving role of AI in mental health. Guided by a commitment to the human side of innovation, Dr. Forkner continues to explore how technology can strengthen, not replace, the connection at the heart of care.
